Day 1

Adelaide to  Robe (via Coorong)

Friday afternoon we leave the bustling CBD of Adelaide behind and travel past the truly magnificent Coorong to our destination at the coastal village of Robe. This beautiful little hamlet will be our base for the next few days as local photographer Jacqui Bateman shows you the best of rural lifestyles behind the camera.

Accommodation is at Stony Rise Lodge one of Robe’s newest luxury bespoke hotels. Set in Natural bush settings this fully hosted secluded getaway boasts expansive grounds, luxury suites and fully catered service. It is truly Robe’s premier accommodation premises. Stony Rise Lodge is designed to capture sunrise and sunset and every view in between. The Lodge is modern, spacious chic and welcoming. Louvres let in sea breezes to keep cool in summer and underfloor heating and an open fire keep warm and cosy in winter.

The Lodge is a place where summer life is lived outside and the 250 square metre Infinity Lawn is an inviting place for you to eat, drink, play and nap on with a fantastic set of outdoor speakers and a firepit.

A short track takes us through an avenue of local bushland, opening out to the Southern Ocean, where Little Dip National Park is on you doorstep in all it’s glory. Wild ancient cliffs and and dunes abound, with untouched beaches and coastlines, a pure joy to behold for the photographer.

With a separate editing suite and presentation lounge, Stony Rise Lodge is the perfect luxury getaway location for us to host your Limestone Coast Photography experience.

Day 2

After a comfortable night relaxing and reflecting on day 1, we awake to a new dawn. Robe is one of the most picturesque and historic seaside towns in this region of South Australia with beautiful long beaches and historic landmarks and buildings.  As we tuck into a hearty breakfast, we visit the Harbour for a sunrise shoot of the local cray fishing industry.  Our day consists of visiting remote beaches and dine on sumptuous seafood at quaint local wineries. The light, the sounds, the atmosphere of capturing this stunning place is an enriching experience. Your photography will go to the next level once again under the watchful eye of Jacqui Bateman. There is plenty of time to walk the streets and soak up the atmosphere while maybe doing a spot of shopping in some of the gorgeous shops lining the main street.

As the afternoon sun starts to soften the light, we head to rural properties in the district to capture the lifestyles of unique local folk, who have their own little piece of paradise to share with us. Visit secluded waterholes, immerse in the local livestock region including camels, unique cattle & sheep, and  working farm dogs.

The variety of life in this part of the world lends itself to stunning photographic experiences, sure to delight you with the results.

Day 3

Robe to Naracoorte

A new day breaks and another opportunity to capture the surrounding scenery. The historic fishing port, the long beaches offer an array of options for photography,  each with their own uniqueness of colour, light and detail. After breakfast we embark on a beach shoot to capture the brilliance of these wide open seascapes.

With a short drive to Naracoorte, located near some of Australia’s best Cabernet Sauvignon Wine regions, the Coonawarra, we will photograph any number of beautiful water birds and flora in this very unique wetland.

We will also have an opportunity to visit the Naracoorte Limestone Caves. Here you can get up close and personal with your favourite stalagmites and stalactites and fossils in these stunning 800,000 year old underground caves.

Wow, Wow, Wow. Perfect!
We loved this amazing experience. So personalised that we felt very, very special and priviledged. We left on a real high as we had never experienced anything like this before and talked about it all the way home.
I have already shared the weekend to special friends.
